Opening a Fruit and Vegetable Stand at HomeSANTIAGO, DOM. REP. -
In order to supplement the family income, many women, single parents,
and elderly people requested funds to set up commodity--often fruit and
vegetable--stands attached to the front of their houses. Worldwide helped
these entrepreneurs set goals, purchase lumber for shelving, acquire the
initial inventory, and buy scales for weighing. The initial costs to Worldwide
were repaid through weekly payments.
